Natalia M. Chavez, age 74, passed peacefully at her home in Grand Prairie, Texas on Thursday, April 2, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer since September 2008.

Born October 22, 1940 in Miquihuana, Tamaulipas, Mexico. She lived in Jasper, Texas for seven years before settling in Grand Prairie, Texas with her family.

Her faith was constant through all the beautiful as well as the difficult times in her life. She was a longtime member of the Primera Iglesia Bautista in Grand Prairie and attended church regularly. Natalia was also an...

Natalia M. Chavez, age 74, passed peacefully at her home in Grand Prairie, Texas on Thursday, April 2, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer since September 2008.

Born October 22, 1940 in Miquihuana, Tamaulipas, Mexico. She lived in Jasper, Texas for seven years before settling in Grand Prairie, Texas with her family.

Her faith was constant through all the beautiful as well as the difficult times in her life. She was a longtime member of the Primera Iglesia Bautista in Grand Prairie and attended church regularly. Natalia was also an avid gardener, enjoying the outdoors.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Romualdo Chavez, her six children, Silvia Mercado and husband Cesar R. Mercado, Elena Sutton and husband Michael Lee Sutton, Olga Lidia Armijo and husband Juan Jesus Armijo, only son Julio Cesar Chavez, Nancy Janette Rivera and husband Jose Martin Rivera, and Rosa Isela Navarro.

Six grandchildren, Matthew Ali Armijo, Andrew Martin Armijo, Kristopher Ray Armijo, John Ryan Armijo, Brandon Tyler Sutton, and Abigail Josefina Mercado.

Relatives and friends are welcome at the visitation and viewing held from 6pm-8pm on Monday, April 6 at Bean Massey Burge Funeral Home, 2951 S. Belt Line Rd., Grand Prairie, Texas. Funeral and burial service on Tuesday, April 7 at 10am at Primera Iglesia Bautista, 201 Freetown Rd., Grand Prairie, Texas.
